Verna van Schaik

Verna’s career spans 20 years in software development, across all aspects of the SDLC, using iterative, incremental delivery (that became Agile). In 2014, she moved out of Analysis into Agile Coaching and has never looked back. Since then, she has found herself coaching in numerous teams across two continents (South Africa and now New Zealand), exploring all aspects of coaching from coaching squads, lean, scrum, S.A.F.E, Servant Leadership and Flow to Agile Chapter lead.  She supports a team of Agile coaches at Westpac in New Zealand.

Along the way she has had the good fortune to spend a year working for herself with her company Deeply Agile, where she was able to focus on practical agile and blending agile mindsets, leadership and behaviour, with agile practices like flow, visualization and Scrum.

She also holds the Guinness World Record for the Deepest Dive by a Woman on Scuba: an experience that she finds extremely useful in understanding Agile and how Agile supports exceptional performance.

Verna spoke as a Keynote at Scrum Australia 2020 and we are thrilled to have her return as a speaker in 2020.

Verna will be presenting: Coaching Coaches in the Practice of Coaching
